My 1991 Jeep XJ is for sale. Asking $7500 (I will pay to ship it). It's located in Italy right now. Shipping to the states would take a few weeks. If bought by a non DoD person in the EU, we will need to sort out importing it to your country.

230,xxx miles. Motor and transmission throw down all the power you need. D30 front with 8.25 rear (29 spline), geared 4.88. She cruises at 65mph with no problems. AC/heat work. AC was recharged professionally in 2010. The transfer case had a rebuild kit installed about 1,000 miles ago.

I'll list the mods below, but check out www.b2xj.com and the build thread.

Mods
- Flat/Matte Black Paint
- H4 housings and bulbs
- JCR LED taillight boxes
- Surco Rack with mountain bike fork mount
- WJ knuckles, with over the knuckle
- TNT Customs high steer trackbar and axle bracket
- SYE (less than 1000 miles)
- custom rear drive shaft from Oliver's
- RCV D30 axle shafts (no questions asked lifetime warranty)
- Spartan D30 locker
- Mustang injectors
- K&N CAI
- throttle body spacer
- IronMan4x4Fab motor mounts
- IronMan4x4Fab adjustable upper and lower control arms (Moog axle side bushings have 500 miles on them)
- Deaver 5.5" springs
- one of a kind Warrior Welding front winch bumper and rear tire carrier
- Raceline Monster 17" beadlocks
- 35" Maxxis Trepadors (maybe 2000 miles on them) with spare
- interior cargo rack and window racks
- Corbeau Baja RS seats
- bedliner inside
- white dash and leds
- JCR stage 3 sliders
- JCR gas tank skid
- JCR t-case skid
- JCR lower 1/4 panel armor
- ORFAB upper 1/4 armor
- custom tube fenders from Rides of Conover
- Riddler D30 diff cover
- XCR 8,000lbs winch with synthetic line
- 46" hilift with mounts

Now for the negatives. A rat welcomed me to Italy by chewing on the seats. All cosmetic, but still annoying. The OBA York compressor has seized. I'm running the stock belt without the compressor hooked up. I will include the belt you need to run the York, but you will need to rebuild the York or get a different one. Both interior overhead lights need replaced. The passenger mirror was introduced to a tree. Cruise control works, you just need to replace the vacuum cable as the plastic end snapped off ($10 part from junk yard).

I am willing to part it out. If I get confirmed buyers for most of the parts (wheels, axles, tcase, armor), I will pay to have the XJ shipped to Charlotte, NC and you can pick the parts up.

Our life style just doesn't fit with the XJ anymore. I brought it to Italy with the hopes that I would be able to do some exploration driving in the mountains and such. It's just not happening and the XJ is just sitting in the driveway collecting dust.

35's aren't common at all from what I've seen. Offroading is popular, but different. People don't have F250's and car hauler trailers to get their rigs to and from offroad parks/trails. Also, laws are very prohibitive about what you can do to rigs and still get tags for them. I'm no expert, but my Italian friends say that things as simple as changing tire sizes on a vehicle is against the law without having a shop do it and then do paperwork to OK it for the road. Forget axle/engine/etc. swaps. I was exempt from 90% of the hassle of having a modified rig because of my situation. Only thing I had to do to pass inspection was get the fenders put on.

I have been stopped about 4 or 5 times (cops do random checkpoints, where I seem to be randomly selected 100% of the time) and asked for my paperwork. They usually ask how it handles, is my stopping distance OK, are all my seat belts and the like working. Always very polite.

We took it to the Alps for 8 days last week as my support vehicle for a mountain bike race. Lots of 4x4's and military rigs (support vehicles for the race) were there and nothing had the capabilities of this XJ. Laws about vehicle mods and the cost of gas (maybe double or triple what it is in the US) keep mods way down.

With all that being said, it was a mistake to ship it here. Not that we don't have fun with it, but the language barrier makes it impossible to find people to wheel with. There are some local Americans with JK's and TJ's, but so far they appear to be mall crawlers.

My number is 704-266-0594.

Nice looking XJ..... looks like one I used to see around here. Kinda a rare rig for Italy isn't it??

Hmmm.......maybe because I lived in Charlotte, NC before Italy? Haha. But it didn't have the bumpers or fenders when I was in Charlotte, and was only black for a few weeks before I shipped it. Are you cyber stalking me?

Ya, it's fairly rare here, but I can't sell it to a local, not legally or without parting it out.

Ha... small world.... yeah I remember seeing a year or two ago. it was red with a black hood.... it was the bar below the rear windows that made me remember it. Not something I'd seen before.

I think I saw it in Mt Holley or maybe just across the river near my house..... maybe at the sonic on Mt Holley/Huntersville rd. I seem to run into a lot of jeep guys right there. More Land Cruiser people towards ballantyne and university area

Nice looking XJ, they have always been my favorite jeeps.

Why are you selling?? Coming back this way or just can't find too many places to use it over there?

Haha. Small world. I lived in a neighborhood across Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd. from that Sonic. It was red with a black hood.

Selling it because it isn't getting any use here. All our weekends are spent traveling or exploring Europe. We won't be coming back to the states for at least two more years, maybe more. I'm really heavy in to endurance mountain bike racing and I'm wanting to pick up a Cannondale Scalpel Carbon 1 or 2 so the Jeep has to go.

Yeah really small world... I live in the neighborhood behind the sonic pushed up against the Catawba.

Good luck with the mountain bike thing... def. in a good place for that.
If I was in your position i'd buy something that is pretty cheap over there. 25+ year old diesel G-wagen or defender and then sell it for mucho dinero when you get back here.

Good luck with the sale :ylsmoke:
