Measured and cut a hole in the floor also got the steering are in from sky's offroad design. I pieced together my crossover steering trying to save money but I think I should have just ordered a kit. I'm using an offroad design drag link but the taper in the sky's steering arm was not right. Ended up ordering a taper cutting bit and bored it out. With the 2wd steering box offroad design pitman arm every thing else went together smoothly. Also using the offroad design steering box brace.

Maybe someone on here can help. All the rest of the pictures I have were taken with my new phone and it says they are to large of a file to post. What's another way to post pictures and how do I do it?

Got the rear axle installed. For the rear I'm using the 56 inch stock rear springs an offroad design shackle flip and a DIY4X 6 inch shackle.

Ended up finding a 1995 TBI 454 that was very cheap. Only had 128k on it when the suburban it was in was wrecked. Came complete with wiring harness and ECU. Started tearing it apart to check everything clean and paint it.

No pictures of tearing it down. I replaced all the gaskets put in a new oil pump and timing chain.

Plans are to keep it all stock for now just make it reliable.

Next I started to strip the firewall to clean and paint it. The color is desert tan. Eventually I plan to paint the whole thing this color.

Once I got the engine and transmission in I found out the driver side exhaust manifold was a no go. But the hole for the transmission was perfect.

Next I took the sock suburban harness and the 95 454 harness and made a plug and play harness to use the 95 sensors ecu and retain all of my factory gauges and check engine light.

This pretty much brings us to current. I got the front clip and radiator put on. Then pulled it out of the garage for the first time. The engine seems to run good but the transmission that I bought is not so great. The transmission makes lots of noise in first second and third gear so I will have to take it out and rebuild it sadly.

List of things that need to be done:
Rebuild transmission
Get front drive shaft made
Find a shifter boot
Try to lower it down some and cut the fenders more ( I am not fond of how tall it is currently)

I'll update again as I get more accomplished hop you all have enjoyed the build up so far. If you have any questions comments or concerns let me know.

The TBI 454 uses much higher fuel pressure than a TBI 350. It may idle around good but it will be very lean once you start driving it on the road. You'll need a fuel pump for a 454 TBI or a Tune Port Injected Camaro that makes 40ish PSI vs the 12ish PSI of the stock TBI 350 pump.

Yeah I'm currently running a 97 vortec 5.7 fuel pump. Supposedly they are rated even higher than a standard 454 fuel pump. It seems to run fine now I've driven it some but who knows it might not be the right choice.

I'm glad we provided some motivation. It's always good to keep another one on the road and most importantly exploring.
