here is the beginning of my journey,

i had started building a 88 k5 as a rock crawler but living in Iowa meant very little rocks. So i would need a tow rig and trailer and that had a few things going against it , Budget , a place to keep all of it and how much would i really be using it . so my friend had picked this up a while back and started fixing some of the little things it needed to make it a daily driver , the guy he got it from put in a newer motor but got rid of the fuel injection , so to make a long story short we worked out a deal. It is going to be more of a weekend warrior for me till i get the rest of the bugs out of it and make it a dependable rig.
Future plans:
re install fuel injection
fix the rust
new tube bumpers
roof rack
A/C
265/75R16 on h3 rims
lots of interior work
and i am sure there is more

Had a 93 Yukon two door. A word of advice, if your u joints get wobbly, change them before you lose one at 70 mph and crack your tranny housing.

Welcome to the site Dewey. I am looking forward to seeing what you will do with that fine rig you have. Dont let a tight budget stop you. Take it slow and easy and your rig will come together before you know it...:)

I have a 1994 k5 like yours and I have had it for 13 years now. IT has been the best rig I have ever owned. It has given me little trouble over the years and has 187,000 miles on it with original everything. One of the 1st things I did was dumped the muffler and got a thru flow exhaust system, then I put a spacer on the throttle body and fuel injectors. I dumped the airbox and added a free flow pipe into there and it breathes a lot better now.

My current project is extending the main dash to where the cassette deck used to be so I can get a double din receiver in there. I am also adding some offroad lights to the roof where my rack is and going to build new nerf bars for the steps that will be pressurized so I can put an air compressor in the engine compartment and use them as air tanks. I ahve a few other things I want to do but right now this is all.

Well i have a little update . i got the tci tv cable bracket for the edelbrock carb and wow is all i can say . i thought that the trans was going out and boy did that wake it up...i know its not fuel injection but it runs much better . i ran out of money so i could not get to the quick pick but i did get all of my rust repair panels ordered and some por 15... Also picked up a small pressure sand blaster from harbor freight.

i have a question about my new body panels... i plan to cut out all of the rusted material, sand blast and then por15 all of the metal that they will cover. the question is do i wait on my friends to weld in the new panels or pop rivet and seam seal the new ones in ? i plan on adding body molding ( http://www.coachmfg.com/bus_parts/part.php?id=342&cat=&subcat=&menu=short ) then bedline up to the body line either way i do it and i hate to have to count on someone to do this for me
