94 Discovery 1 slow family adventure build.

Well after six years of owning an 89 RRC and suffering a terminal engine failure I have moved on to a 1994 Discovery! With three kids and one on the way the jump seats will come in handy. First order of business, replace the failed right rear axle bearings. Only problem is, the axle half shaft is stuck. Any words of wisdom for its removal?AAAB3408-4F96-41E0-9F1A-BB21C4808439.jpeg10507417-D7D9-49D8-A0C3-182C511BED3D.jpeg

Pull hard. There really isn't any reason it shouldn't pull right out. Perhaps you're feeling tightness on the inner axle seal form built up gunt hangin' onto the axle or something. Wrap a thin strap around the flange for added leverage.

Put a small block of wood between hub and axle outer flange...and use a prybar to force it out.

Nice looking rig, looking forward to following along.

Well between the slide hammer and a 4 ft pry bar it finally let free. Pulled the hub off and the rollers of the inner bearing fell out! The inner race was seized to the stub axle so some careful grinding and a cold chisel and it finally came free. Getting dark so calling it a night. Tomorrow I will clean up the stub axle and the. Awaiting new seals, bearings, and rotors.

So today’s find is a damaged stub axle. Parts are on their way and should be here mid next week. Until then I will start investigating two leaking sunroofs. I can see an air gap on both of them on the front edge. Is there an adjustment to make them seal better?

Also threw in a couple photos of the interior in its current state. I plan to add a fold down table on the rear door and build a slide out drawer for the basics on one side of the back as when the entire family goes out one jump seat will still be required.12DAF986-CC90-4E97-BEE3-EA49FB249E97.jpeg33CEA1DF-B451-43F9-A14B-AA905306256E.jpeg16B08617-E8A7-4E99-A4EE-EBBA9489D0B8.jpeg09F21121-EBFF-4799-9B90-EEBF15CCBECF.jpeg750AB6E6-6D3F-439A-AB42-85694FD12940.jpegE95036EB-DD51-4C67-B4E3-AC9E4DA27F84.jpeg27CC8DEF-6091-4C37-8068-7436772A7308.jpeg0D4F95EC-DA02-4CD5-B029-E202DF6D6D45.jpeg9F5886A4-49BC-4C97-84FE-0CD38AA4A20D.jpeg0374F8A8-878F-4801-A7ED-34A6BED9C1C8.jpeg

For the sunrof you are saying there is a gap between the the roof and the the assembly of the sunroof ?
Maybe someone walked on the roof and bent it .
Usualy sunroof leaks ar from the drain hose that can get disconnected or a crack in the drain where it connects to the hose
One another area to look is the front windshield ,water accumulate behind the seal and rust away
