Pappa, you also have the Solid cover, which is much thicker than the stamped steel factory one - we've seen the factory cover clear straight linkages, not by much mind you, but it clears. But yes, I was going to suggest adjusting the stops, although that's more of a permanent thing - if his tires only rub at full lock under compression I'd be tempted to just leave the stops as is so he can get tighter turns most of the time.

Haven't posted in a bit but have a question for anyone with 7.3 experience. I've noticed that when I don't run my truck everyday it will stall out after I start it up. Usually happens twice and on the third go it stays running and everything is fine. If I feather the throttle on the first start it will stay running and not stall but you can tell it wants to. I have a fresh fuel filter in it. Could this be injectors? Thx for reading.

Probably lift pump or low oil level. Your injectors are fired off oil pressure from your HPOP and if the oil level is low it wont fire the injectors properly.

Could also be your HPOP draining back when it sits a few days or just getting weak. You can check oil level in the HPOP to rule out the drainback.

Haven't been able to deal with the stalling issue. I got sidelined by a failed tensioner and the bolt breaking off inside the alternator bracket. What a mess! The bolt came out but the threads are a little beat up. Put the dual pulley tensioner in and a longer belt and it's all back together but not sure I feel comfortable driving long distance. Ford stopped making the alternator bracket and what I thought would be an easy junk yard find turned into two weeks of calling yards all over the country. The problem was I needed one specifically from a 95. Finally found one in Spokane and its on the way to me. In the meantime I've only been driving the truck around town. The good news is that it's almost dealt with. The other good news is that my bumpers got delivered today. Been waiting a few months for these. Got them made up by Protofab in Prescott. Really happy with the finished product. These guys do incredible work and were a real pleasure to deal with. Dropping them off to the powder coater in the morning. Here are some pics.

Here is the alt bracket. The bolt in the middle is what broke. Apparently this was common enough so that Ford had a formal fix for it. You cut off the lower boss and that makes room for the newer style dual pulley tensioner. Once I get the "new" bracket I'll redo this.

Really sucks about the bracket. However, the cool factor of those bumpers more than offsets the bracket. I'm really jealous. Can't wait to see them all mounted up.

^what he said. I've had days where I have questioned why I'm putting my time into such an old rig when endless repairs seem to keep coming up. But then I go for a long drive when its fixed and its all better! Really digging those bumpers!

Well if your truck was a pre powerstroke idi I would say air intrusion in the fuel system for sure on your stalling issue. I dont know psd that well but air intrusion can make a diesel do that until it gets thru the air bubble. I dont know if thats a common powerstroke issue but something to consider

Been awhile but I got the rear bumper mounted up. Had to have some brackets made because the ones that came with it did not fit. Only putting the spare swing out on for now. Pretty happy with it as it allows me to keep the class 5 hitch so I can haul things when I need. The brackets that came with the bumper not only didn't fit but didn't allow me to run the class 5 hitch. The receiver on the bumper itself is not rated. Anyways, I'm still very happy with the end product. Protofab builds an incredible bumper. Here is a shot of the front with my winch mounted up.
