'96 E350 rear a/c ducting

I need to figure out a way to duct air from an outlet in the back of my van. If you look at this pic, you'll see the rear a/c intake. Just above that (and covered by carpet) is the vent.

The problem now is that I have the rear sleeping deck built, which covers both and leaves the cold air pouring out underneath. You can see the height of the deck here.

Short of my own crude engineering, do you guys have anything in mind for how I can re-route that air to come out either underneath the rear bench seat or above it?

Look at west marine, they have a nice assortment of vents and ducting. You may need to make a collector that mounts to the under side of the bed, and a main duct coming out of the ac box that's covered up.

Mike, do you think somehow re-routing that collector will help cool the interior off? It does seem that if it were drawing in hot air from say, under the bench seat that it would cool the main seating air quicker, doesn't it? I don't want to go to the trouble if it's not going to make much difference. When the a/c is on max, enough air is being sucked into that intake to easily hold a sheet of paper against it.

I could pull the factory collector from my van im sending to the jyard as a starting pount since your is gone. And i think running the ducts under the sleeping platform would work out great. That platform is permantaly bolted down correct?

Im still slightly confused where the ac comes out. I see the intake. Right above that should be the duct that runs up to the roof vents. But there doesnt seem to be any vents above the intake vent.

Also did they allow for heater vents in thw front of the van like they would be on a stock van?
