Pappa, I called them. No answer. So I sent a detailed email with my phone number. I dropped your name, and my buddy's name too. I have tons of respect for your mechanical opinion. So much in fact that I'm holding up till I hear from Fernando. I want to make sure I get this right. I half a**ed it first go round. I'm not doing that again. I'm sure the SkyJacker springs would work.....but what if for just a little more money or just a little more time I can get exactly what I need. Thank you for pushing the issue here. I also called my buddy who lives just down the road. After talking in great detail about what he's got going with his springs I'm more than satisfied Atlas can do me some good. But, I think SEMA has them REALLY busy. May not hear from them for a week or so. We'll see. I'm waiting on them either way.

SEMA starts next week. Everyone is MIA.

Ballpark, what would a custom set of rear Atlas springs set me back?

Depends on application. They have pricing on their website. Not the cheapest but they use only North American steel, not asian junk. I've seen the springs others make that are made in bangledesh, india or china. Their steel does not compare.

Hey man, I checked the website out in more detail today. I can get a set of their performance front springs for about the same money as the SkyJacker springs. Only with Atlas I'm gonna know exactly what lift I'm getting and exactly how they will handle. I'm super stoked. Especially after more conversation with my buddy. He elaborated about his conversation with Fernando. Those guys know springs. Just have to wait on SEMA to be over.

I am waiting too. I'm getting stock height multi-leafs for my F250.

I just ordered a shackle reversal kit from PMF in Arizona. The kit will lift the truck 2.25 inches. I will use U-code Super Duty Springs. They are the softest Super Duty springs and they should not give any additional lift over the 2.25" from the shackle kit. The best price on springs that I could find was with ATS autoandtrucksprings.com . Most people use V-code springs which are a little stiffer and would give you a total of 4" lift. I hear different opinions about which are the better springs to use in terms of ride quality. I'll let you know what I think when I get it all installed, although it will probably take me a while to finish.

The shackle kit is designed to clear intercoolers, but I would call to make sure that it would clear your particular one.

I looked into the shackle reversal kits a while back. I've had my truck for several years now. I hadn't owned it long when I was studying the SRK's. The company I looked at had two versions. The intercooled version was higher. But I don't remember what company it was, and they both added 4" of lift. At any rate I don't want to spend the coin on both a shackle kit and springs. If my stock springs were still good, though, I'd be looking at one. Would be interested in how you come out though.

I'm going to build my own shackle reversal. Because of the shackle length below the frame, it should give me 3 inches of lift.

Dang! I've been trying for two weeks to get in touch with Atlas spring and am having no luck! They aren't taking calls and they don't respond to emails. Not a good sign.......

Well, finally talked to Fernando ! Springs are spec'd out and ordered. Unfortunately the shop is slammed and it's gonna be eight to ten weeks! Ouch! But it's ok. I got stuff to do!

I find it extremely satisfying to change my truck up. I recently put my original flat-top topper back on. It had some cracks at the rear corners down low at the rear of the cap. It was getting pretty bad. I was concerned that the cracking would ruin the topper so I took it off, thinking it was done. Then it occurred to me how to repair it. So I set to work. Not a single picture did I take. But, after some serious studying, drilling, bolting, platings, and more studying, I think it's fixed. In fact, I know it is. So- I put it back on. I really like the look of this cap on my old truck. It's one of the reasons I bought it. As it currently sits, I'm as happy as I've ever been with it. But I'm sure I'll change it again. I'm also still super excited about the new springs that are due in about a month. Tons of pics, and good work to come!

This is my favorite top on this rig, Seabass. Glad you were able to repair and reuse it!

So nice! You will love the ride quality.

Several years ago when I found this site- your truck was one of the first I saw. I remember reading about your Atlas springs. My expectations are high. I'm absolutely thrilled to own a set. I can't wait to get them on. Unfortunately an ice and snow storm is forecast starting tomorrow afternoon and really foul weather all weekend. I don't know when the schedule will free up to start. I still need new extended brake lines, shocks, and track bar drop bracket. But other than the brake lines I need the springs on to do some measurements on the rest. Oh these terrible first world problems!
