I still find things on my new 98 XJ that puzzle me. Installed the 2" OME springs up front last weekend. Got under her studying the rear this am and find some sort of sticker wraped around the axle tube close to the RR tire. I carefully peeled it off and find these markings.

OK I understand the 8.25 and the 3.55 but "OPEN CASE", is this stock?
Another thing comes to mind. Sticker was worn and dirty but I could read it ok. Either this jeep has hardly been off road (hence original sticker intact) or the axle was replaced at some point.
