65BAJA I need to get in contact with you since I see you work at MetalCloak. I just saw you guys released a kit for XJ's and my buddy has your 3.5" TJ lift. How much total lift would I get with your 3.5" coils with a bumper and winch on the front? I need replace my old rusted warn out suspension pieces and coils and leafs are on my todo list. I want to sit around 4.5" of lift with bumpers, sliders, winch. Also I'm mad I missed out on that giveaway on jeep forum lol.

No problem. I used to work for RE. That bar was prototyped on my old grey 88 XJ back in 2001-2002 when the then owner was racing Jeepspeed. You should consider picking up the brace for it. Not only does it reinforce the bracket but it can keep the motor from trying to drop out the bottom of the engine bay when you land hard from a set of whoops out on the far side of the race course. Though it may not keep that nice expensive MSD distributor that you just put in before the race from getting a bent shaft. lol

Good to know. I saw it as an option when I bought the track bar and bracket so I'll have to keep an eye out for a good deal.

Nice thread! My XJ is an '01 but could be your twin. Though, I've gone for a bit of a different look...fraternal twins I guess!

JCR is a great outfit. I almost went with them before I got a great deal on the Rough Country front bumper and Nates4x4 rear. I'm taking my on an overland trip through the eastern Upper Peninsula a week from today. Can't wait!

I agree could definitely be twins. Solid looking Jeep you got there. That trip sounds like it would be a blast.

So I just happened to be down stairs and hear a truck pull into my apartment complex and beep it's horn, sure enough it was the UPS guy! My winch and compressor have finally arrived!

I can't wait to get the winch bolted on! I need to look and find a good place to put the compressor since I won't have lockers a bit, it'll be used for tire fill ups and some air tools hopefully.

Congrats on the new additions! Not sure about the late model XJ's but I put my compressor (old old style) on the drivers side right above the fender well on my current '93 XJ.

When you get the winch installed, test it under load so you know it works good before you actually need to use it.

Noted. I have some space next to the cone filter on the intake but that eventually will be taken by a dual battery so I'm thinking maybe under the rear seat or cargo area.

Which compressor is that? Looks like the same one I have. Mine is bolted behind the cubby in the rear on the passenger side. It's a bit loud, but you will be outside when using it so won't bother you.

It's the ARB high output compressor. I think I have found the perfect spot for it in the engine compartment but will dig into it further later on.

If you delete the ABS pump that compressor fits nicely right next to the master cylinder. Assuming you are not using the ABS due to the D44. Might be more work than worth it but it does fit perfectly.

You are correct no ABS....I plan on getting a cowl intake and placing a second battery where the air box goes that should leave me enough room for the compressor and a DIY spod. Removing the ABS might be out of my comfort level for wrenching but I will look into it to see what all is entailed.

I've got the same compressor and it's great. I agree with not mounting it in the cab since it does get loud. Most of the time I go offroading or camping with the kids and my 6 year old tends to fall asleep at some point, the compressor would sure wake him up. Plus if you ever added air lockers, it would cycle on and off every now and then.
