Ive been checking this forum out for awhile now so I decided I would finally post my project. I traded a 95 jeep yj for a bone stock 99 Chevy tahoe. It had some nasty white pin stripe all over the hood and down the side, so that was the first thing that had to go. Then I started by building a storage platform for the cargo area ( pictures to come) to store all my gear, spare tire, and my truck guns.
Next I picked up a cheap cargo rack for the reciever hitch, and built a custom rack for the roof out of electrical conduit. Came out pretty good and sturdy for what its made out of.
Then the next thing that had to go was the stock hood that the PO had screwed on some fake ram air hood scoops onto. That got replaced with a fiberglass 3 1/2 inch cowl hood that my neighbor makes in his spare time.
The next to address was communications. I added a cheap cobra cab with 4 foot whip antenna to keep in touch with home and other people.
Some things to come when money permits are : 33x12.50 tires ( gonna try and fit with no lift to keep COG low), custom built front winch bumper, custom rear bumper, cab visor and more inside storage. Pics will come as things get done.
