So a few of you know about my recent build but I thought I'd post it up for the rest.

I started a few months ago with a bone stock 99 DI SD, 97k on the clock, extremely clean interior, exterior and a beautiful 4.0 under the hood.

I started with just the basics, serp, magnecore wires, plugs, filters and fluids.

Then came a few goodies...

Ben,

The truck looks great

Another clean, well constructed build out of Utah.

Are you happy with the D90 brake upgrade?

The disco looks amazing.

I'm interested in how you fabbed those bumpers. Did you use a brake for the whole thing or cut & weld?

Thanks Scott ;)

I'm very happy with the D90 brakes. One thing I didn't do was upgrade to stainless lines which I'll do soon. I'm not in too big of a hurry though.

Looks awesome Ben!! Well let me know when you'd like to teach me how to make a rear bumper like that. Can you explain the why you "drilled and tapped to 7/16-20 grade 8 hardware" for the hubs? Is there a big difference to the standard hub hardware on DIs?

Just for strength. It's really not the flange that has a problem breaking, it's the bolts that sheer. I just figured..."while I'm in here" kind of thing. It doesn't take long and the grade 8 hardware is cheap so why not. In all reality the way I'll be using this truck, it's overkill.

Teach you how to build a rear bumper? Hmmm... This was my first one. All I did was make a pattern and stick to it. Lots of... measure multiple times, weld once ;)
