And I thought you would be one the guys to stick with IFS!! Swapping does make life a lot easier to four wheeling and I still consider it as an option on this Tahoe...even though I pumped a lot of hours and $$ into the IFS.

What shocks are you running that your IFS is too soft?

Yeah I was doing the price outlay for ifs and it would run me $2500 in the front end alone to get it how I wanted (good travel, locker, etc) and I would still be dealing with ifs. So to seperate it from the bro truck crowd and get what I want, sas seems the way to go. I'm running Rancho rs5000's on it and they're not enough to keep the front end from floating over bumps.

The more I dig into this IFS system, I agree, it would cost a ton of money to really beef it up. With that said, I still have some time with my IFS before I rip it out. It handles well and the strength has been fine for me...but I do wish I had the ability to lock it and articulation is limited.

Some new toys arrived today!!!

As you guys may remember, I used the Samlex 600w Pure Sine inverter on my trip. Well, I decided to upgrade to the commercial version of their Pure Sine inverter line and jump to 1000w. This inverter, from everything I have read, is an incredibly robust commercial unit that can handle just about anything I can throw at and last a lifetime. Also, because of where I mount it within my console, I opted for the remote so I can easily turn the unit on/off.

So far I am blown away by the quality of everything I received today and can't wait to install and turn this puppy on. Sure, it only converts electricity, but this unit is literally top-of-the-line and will be the last one I'll ever have to buy

They also make a number of high quality units in the SSW Pure Sine and Modified Sine inverters.

Any pics of the current inverter installed? Just curious where / how you did it.

I'll put together a video of the install. But essentially the power & ground will go directly from the battery, run through the firewall and terminate directly on the inverter...which will be hidden inside the custom center console. With my 600w Samlex unit I didn't have a remote and bc of where I mounted it, it was a pain to turn it on/off. This remote is a dream come true and I think it will look great b/c it's flat...so I have more mounting options.

My next bit of work is fixing this Tactical Armor Group bumper....junk. I'm building a new mounting system b/c the original causes the bumper to sag horribly...all their mounting holes are grooved so it's not possible for the bumper to sit still for very long!!! (i.e. no centering hole.

I'm also cutting off one of the shackle mounts b/c the weld has already broken...even though I have never recovered off of it. After that I have to cut the gas can mounting system off, turn it 90 deg and mount it correctly.

They also screwed up my hi lift mount and it won't work with the tire mounted. Unfortunately this will require more work then I have time, so that one will sit low on the priority list. It looks like tomorrow I'll have a few hours to fix the majority of the problems!

I had a set of custom shackle mounts made for my ARB bumper. I am VERY impressed with their quality, welds are spot on and it was spec'd perfectly.

I'm using all Grade 8 hardware, don't mind the two different size washers currently on there.

This is where they are going

Almost done fixing the TAG bumper. I've rebuilt the mounting system and so far happy with the results. In stead of it leaning backwards, it now sits straight up and is MUCH stronger then it was previous
