A Blazer Chalet on Craigslist

There's a Blazer Chalet for sale right off of Highway 85 (South Santa Fe Drive) near Louviers, CO,..

This one? Kind of maroon color that migrates towards brown? I had heard about that one from other guys, it finally popped up on Craigslist a while back for $3,000, a '76 GMC Jimmy Casa Grande. I copied the ad text and contact info if anyone wants it. Never got the serial number / build date for it, though.

I am really digging on the chalets. I've only seen one in real life, I believe it was in Bishop, CA but man sooo cool. Seems like for the $$$ they are a pretty great deal.

That's it, great catch. My searches wouldn't have caught it, since I only go by words. This is/was the Owens Valley Boat Shop, 1674 North Sierra Highway, Bishop, CA 93514. Google Street View doesn't pick up the address right, but when you backtrack to the right spot, the Googlemobile caught a glimpse of it a few years ago.

The Bishop CA one mentioned in posts 18, 19 & 21 can now be seen at this page, part of the whole estate sale. A few other SUVs are there if you surf around the site. The seller told me today that he swapped the wheels back to the originals since the spoked ones on the front were rubbing on the suspension parts. Despite sitting for years, he said it starts and runs fine.

Tucson Craigslist ad for $4,000. It's serial #762, built 8/76. Never had a chance to go down there and see it in person...

1976/77 Blazer Chalet Camper. Rare old style full size Chevy Blazer set in camper. This unit is only one in our area and one of about 120 left in the country. It sleeps 4? with gas heat, cook top, sink, ref/ice box. Has eating area with storage. Has a pop top for a 6 footer to stand up in. The unit needs completely restored but would make a GM Blazer guy happy to have it. If interested call 740-862-8971 and mention Blazer Chalet.

There is a cruddy used car lot here in town (SE Idaho) that has one of these sitting towards teh back of the lot. Not something I'm interested in right now, but if anybody is looking let me know and I'll go take a look

Speaking of which, further away in Ohio is this one, Park Layne Craigslist. Indeterminate price, the seller may end up keeping it. Said it is serial #901, built 9/76

Many thanks to fowldarr's efforts in contacting the seller and getting photos: This serial #158 is in a Pocatello junkyard, for sale for perhaps a $1,000 +/- depending on the mood of the seller, missing various parts large & small (engine, wheels, etc). It has a Utah RV registration plate, and appears to have little rust.
**9/18/09 Edit - the newest person at our Chalet owners' forum just informed me he bought it.**
