A few 4x4 RV's

I looked at an Isuzu that looked just like that a couple years ago. Very slick design features camper-wise; screens on all windows, slick bed/couch conversion mechanism...

The insanely awful departure angle and the fact I couldn't stand upright(I'm 5'10) anywhere except the shower killed it for me. It was listed for a lot less than that, in CDN$ to boot...

My impression is that the 4JB1-T is very reliable indeed. Not sure how it would feel in that rig power-wise.

I have a non-turbo 4JB1 2.8L in my '93 Elf 150 1.5ton flatbed, and it's an awesome engine. Starts with less fuss than any other diesel I've ever driven, and has plenty of power... right up until it runs out of RPMs @ around 70KMPH in 5th gear. JDM imports, barring sports cars, tend to top out pretty low by north american standards, but my Elf is a pretty extreme example...

I sold one similar to that last year, not as slow around town as you might think. 100 kph easy on flats, dies a bit on hills, not any worse than an old Westie. The kid that bought it drove it from Flagstaff AZ to Florida. I then saw it in Page AZ a few months later, so, it was obviously fast enough for him. Worst thing about that thing was the 5 on the tree. I can do RHD with the shifter on the floor/console, but good God, what a pain , then around corners I'd keep turning the wipers on (that's backwards too) as shifted from 2nd to 5th!!!
