Great job... As I've been working on my own skate bearing drawers and have had to scrap my initial effort for all but the drawers themselves, I am glad to see yours are coming out well.

Btw. .. By retired tanker do you mean tank (m1 Abram etc) or like a truck carrying liquid?? :)

Just a quick update.

I've gotten the frame and drawers installed, but without the metal brackets underneath.

I noticed when I test fitted the drawers that they weren't level, and to my utter surprise I find that one of the holes I drilled for the roller bearings is sitting about 1/8" too high. That tilted one side of the drawers up and ate up all of the allowance that I had for clearance between the drawers and the uprights for the platform.

After the holidays I'm going to disassemble the frame and re-do the holes for the bearings and pay more attention to accuracy. I'll be able to reuse the hardware.

In the mean time we're going to Texas for the holidays and on the way back will try our hand at boondocking, probably somewhere north of Little Rock.

Merry Christmas, All!!

I used 4" strip of hdpe on the bottom of my 4' drawer and a Southco latch. There is enough friction it keep it from sliding out on a slope. I work in the woods and it has been bouncing around for the last 6 months or so with zero issues.
