A possible dilemma? Relocation and only 200 watts???

Here's my dilemma, possibly...
I've been in contact with a company in Colorado for work. I'm currently residing in Florida. My current rig has 2 100 watt panels that supply me with just enough power for all my needs.
Will moving to Colorado affect my solar harvest ?
If so will it be better or worse and how do I prepare for it?
Thanks for any advice!

It would be impossible to tell you for sure. There are some places in FL that get more rainfall then others. There are areas in CO that get more snowfall then others. Clouds can make a big difference in the amount of solar collected. If you are just getting enough, and you have the room I would probably add one more panel if not two. It would be cheaper to take the time and find a good price, than having to run out settle with an expensive panel because you needed to keep your food for spoiling, or you ran down your battery to much to many times and now you need not only a new panel but a new battery.

Actually, I would think that Colorado, being cooler would be more efficient for solar production during the year.

I would say if anything your solar collection will increase slightly in CO. We have very few cloudy days, and due to the higher altitude there is actually higher solar radiation at the surface. In winter in particular you may need to angle you panels to get maximum efficiency.

But will the move lower any of your consumption? If running a fridge, you are likely to use less energy when it is colder outside.

CO shouldnt be a problem.

Try north Idaho :sombrero:

So it appears that I should be even with or slightly better off in Co, but might better benefit if I can angle the panels.
As long as it's not too much of a difference I should be fine.

Thanks!
