No...not some mythical beings with glittery wings, stunted growth, Orvis chest waders and fly rods...but the PA Fish Commission.
Every year at this time the trout stocking program gets in high gear to help attract the hordes of anglers that will be frothing the water come the first day of trout season. Now we have a sweet little trout stream that runs down the length of property and is part of the improved trout stream waters. So when the trout caravan with the stock truck and the 22 cars and trucks following along showed up, my boy Cam got a chance to help stock the stream behind our house. Now I'll give some kudos to the Commisssion, the quality of the trout has improved greatly over the last couple of decades. Those stockers have gone from mushy, pale skinned dunderheads to healthy, pink fleshed fish that act more like trout born in the creek. Though I'm still a native brook trout guy when it comes right down to it.
