Im close to pulling the trigger on a 7.3 PSD CC SB. I have a shortlist of candidates and Ill be buying in the next few weeks.

Unfortunately because I am importing to Canada and it will under 15yrs old it has to be unmodified.

I decided to replace my 4runner with a diesel and something that can cruise the highway at 110kmh.
Is there a build thread for Super duties out there?

Thanks

Here is mine. Its a 7.3L CC short bed with a 6 speed and floor shift 4WD and lock out hubs. Oh and its a Lariat too. Sorry no build thread yet, and I have added cut out flairs since that picture.

I would look for a 7.3L after Oct 01, that way you get the Dana 60 up front. But if a good pre Oct 01 comes up I wouldn't make the dana 60 a deal breaker. Your going to love the 7.3, its a great motor.

Bella, your truck is definitely looking good, my 1999 will be started to get modded when i get home. I am installing the procomp shackle leveling kit, 315/75/16 BFG AT's on procomp black steel wheels, 4" turbo back into a dual 5" turnout stack kit, DIY intake, TS chip with KT Performance tunes, Cobra 29 LTD Classic cb, and a few other little odds and ends. the only advice i can offer is check the maintnance, make sure it has had the 60,000 mile front bearing service, also pull the air intake tube off and check the fins of the turbo for dusting... it will look like the edges of the turbine has been sand blasted. stay away from automatic trucks that had edge chips put on them. the 4R100 doesnt seem to like the edges perameters and consequently fail. if the truck seems to be REAL sluggish don't fret, most likely the intercooler pipe boots are torn... you can buy all new ones fairly cheap. ALSO just as preventative maintnance order up the new o-rings for the fuel filter bowl and install them as they fail at the worst possible timing. mine did it on a cold morning when it was 4* Farenheit in Colorado... ugggh. Those o-rings are super cheap and easy to do.

Thanks for the advice. The truck I am looking has a few mods already but in the sled pulling direction. It hasnt been raced though. It has a competition spec
engine and a BTS transmission, lockers and some other nice stuff.
The PO has way over capitalised his ride. I figure it will be an excellent start
for a expo rig.

It hasnt had a lift which is nice and may have upgraded axles also.
I hope to pick it up by the end of the month and then drive it from the midwest to Whitehorse YT. I wish I had 6 months for the trip but it will be a two week trip at best.

Bella- would you mind posting a pic with the flares? I have built my PW with Thuren and 37s and want to put 37s on my '11 SD without a lift or relocating the front axle.... Also any negatives? Thanks
