Picked up a second 3rd gen 4runner today for the wife and kids to drive. Its a 99 Limited with the rear locker. Super clean outside and pretty damn clean on the inside for a 10 year old car. Carfax shows its been in Northern Utah all its life and its pretty clean underneath for a Northern Utah truck.

Mods planned: swap out wood trim somehow for something that still looks good with the tan/brown interior (suggestions?), scion t1806 for ipod, swap e-locker into my 2002. ;)

Anyway, couple pics. (More pics HERE -- until they pull the images from their site....)

Nice find.

If your going to swap the elocked axle into your runner I would assume you'd replace it with the one from your 02?

HaHaHa, I just noticed but that used car dealer is right down the street from me. I actually looked at that one when they first got it. The guy also had a Tacoma that had been repaired, massive amount of overspary on the frame.

Lift and bar for the wifey's eh? It could def stand some suspension refreshioning in the rear (prob just shocks). She doesn't want it lifted or anything, but I may sneak a low lift in there when I "refreshion" the suspension.

I'm actually having thoughts of a Taco ARB for the 2002... Call me crazy I guess, but i'm liking the ARB better... LOL

Yep, Teaaron, picked this sucker up in NSL (aka almost Bountiful). Talked them down a bunch and feel we got a good deal on it. Has 136xxx miles. Was hoping for one with less miles but damn, they're either asking for a bar of gold and your lefty, or you gotta be on it within like 15 mins of the ad being posted to get the deal on one. We got the "just sold it an hour ago" on two others that we were hoping to check out. The Utah market on these has been so frustrating actually. We've been looking hard for about three weeks and the pricing on them for 4wd, limited, 98 to 2000 was all over the place--$6.5k to 10.5K and mileage was all over the place in there too...low miles for high $$, highish miles for high $$, and vice versa (low miles, low $$ if you're quick like I said). And nobody is in the mood to haggle on price (but thats the name of the game for used cars!). This one really is clean inside and out (doesn't appear to be a respray so thats good...). We got this one for a price in the lower end of that range at $7.5K so we're happy. Shows t-belt at 96K so that was a plus as well.

Oh, funny thing too actually, we drove up in my '02 (lifted and snorked) and the salesmen were lovin it. They said too while we were off running a final test drive in the '99, a black lifted and snorked 3rd gen runner stopped in there. Anyone on here? Only other built 4runner I've seen around is yours Teaaron. (not that I get up to Bountiful often or even SLC that often anymore).

That's the plan. I know the 99 will swap relatively easily to the 02. Just gotta make sure the opposite is good as well.

Yep, I know that black one kind of. If it's the one I'm thinking about it belonged to a member of Ultimateyota - xonetruthcrewx from California. He sold it to a guy up here. As fas as I know the guy that owners it now isn't on any of the forums.

Could have been Tyson May or Jason Freeberg? Both have black snorkel equipped runners.
