18" for shotties 16" for rifles. Like most guns the chamber starts a bit back from the visible part of the barrel. Drop a wooden dowl down there with the action closed and it will be 18".

Yep. Got lots of these border line firearms. Still no need yet for an FFL, but may need one if certain laws get passed. The whole system is broken at this point. Too much research required for small alterations... blah, blah, blah... I;m gonna get myself all wound up over this stuff.

Maybe we could go shooting sometime soon, Wolf?

Can you offer an opinion of this against a Mossberg 500?

Thanks.
Sam

Great shotgun. I have the 18" smoothbore12g model. holds seven rounds. The only gripe I've ever had was the sling mounts that are far less than useful. A couple Uncle Mike's pieces fixed that, and it's been great. If you're lanky, you might be able to use the present stock; I'm a bit too short armed, so I've replaced mine with a Chate adjustable stock.

First shotgun I've ever owned. I'm not a hunter, and do not need one for home defense, but now that I have one for other reasons, can't hurt to keep some home defense rounds handy. :sombrero:

The gun is absolutely ************* fantastic to shoot.

Wow! That is just AWESOME! So, going out on a limb here...is it a safe assumption that an FFL/Class3 permit would be reqired for one of these? Any idea of cost? Availability in the US? Me likey!:wings:

I think that would be a safe assumption, but the actual barrel length isn't too far over the legal minimums here, so you couls get it with a longer barrel. If you did it that way, however, you would have to register it as an altered firearm... which is just a different kind of tax stamp.

So you should be able to get it... it just may be as expensive as an MP5 with a threaded barrel. :sombrero:

The barrel lenght is 22.5 inches so I am confused as to why you would want it longer.

Wish it were a semi auto instead of a pump. Interesting with dual tube mags. Similar to the Swatriplex 18 of the 80s.
