Adding door window to Chevy Express question

I have a Chevy express cargo van I'm doing a conversion on. It has no windows in the cargo area. I plan to add a window to the front passenger side barn door for viewing traffic on odd lefthand turns. My question is does the glass just seal straight to the skin after cutting out an opening? I can't seem to find any info on adding a stock window to an Express that didn't have one in the side cargo door. I assumed there would be a frame or at least seal of some sorts I would need to buy.

Thanks in advance!

if its white i would honestly consider buying a new door at a scrap yard that already has a window and swapping it as they are super common. assuming you have barn doors that is, its likely faster and easier. as one who literally wouldnt buy a van if it had a side window i can say your uncut windowless door is desireable and somewhat hard to find.

Thanks for the reply. I have already spray foam insulated that door. I think I might just keep it as is and just try to stay out of a situation where I can't see to my right.

im not gonna lie when i drive my friends van who does have a side window i kinda like it...ive had company vans with side windows as well that obviously made life a tad easier for those who typically drove cars but 99.9% of the time i can see everything i need without. blind intersections ive gotten used to either stopping early or approaching at a slight opposing angle. it slightly confuses those behind you but they get over it. less windows makes me fee like my tools and belongings are safer and looks cleaner in my opinion....

Yes, you are missing an OEM seal of some sort and maybe some clips. I can't remember at the moment how the Chevy fixed windows are held in place. I did swap some rear fixed to vented just a couple of years ago and the proper hardware/gaskets were available from a Chevy dealer still.

The non-window doors on our vans are completely different. (the sheet metal is different) You can buy aftermarket windows that match the sheet metal of the non-window vans (CR Laurence makes them)...but really: it's much easier to go to a junk yard and buy a door with a window already in it. (not to mention: the stock window actually opens a little bit)
