RSVP needed

Please make sure you RSVP to martyn@adventuretrailers.com if you plan on attending. As you can imagine there are some logistics to an event like this and we need to know; How many showers we need, how many Porta Potties, etc.

If we can keep a handle on the numbers we can provide the services, if we have "drop ins" it's going to stretch it for everyone.

Ditto Steve Curren on getting to meet everyone and putting a face to your "Portal Handle".

I'm actually off that weekend:yikes:

So I'll email you;)

And I'm dying to know more about the cookoff, cause I plan to win:chef:

I'm totally jazzed now and have something to look forward to in June:friday:

As long as my wife comes we may be able to at least 'show' during the cookoff. Otherwise I will just have to try to win the eating championship :)

Our plan is for all of the contestants to get identical ingredients the morning of the cook off. They will have all day to devise a meal made up from the ingredients they were given. An official start time will be announced as well as a dinner time.

We will have a panel of internationally certified taste testers on hand acting as judges.:chef:

The idea is not to create gourmet meals that take hours to prepare, but meals that are delicious, and easy to prepare, in camp over a fire or small camp stove.:campfire:

The recipes from the cook off will be made into a recipe book.

This is going to be a phenomenal trip. For those of you who can make it, it's going to be one fun weekend! See you there Martyn!

Well...dunno if we're going to sort out our own logistics for making the Baja 500...if we're not headed there maybe we can join you here!

Do we need our own Yak or is there a place to rent?

I am not an international short order camp cook, but I can participate if there's an "eat off" :D.

When do you need to know by? We're still looking, if a bit dejectedly, at Baja at the beginning of June...

Pyramid Lake Adventure Update 4/30/07

A quick update for everyone who has been asking me what’s going on with the Pyramid Lake Adventure. First I apologize for not getting back to you sooner, AT has been in build mode now for a month, we are scheduled through July and looking at slowing down some time in 2010!!

In regard to the Pyramid Lake Adventure we have a few corner stone events in place that are backed up by some great talks and hands on demos.

Totally Off Road from Sparks, Nevada will be putting on a couple of 4X4 runs at Wind Rocks, they will be assisted by staff from Nth Degree. We are thinking of doing a run on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th if enough people want to attend both days.

We have also scheduled an SUV run into the Black Rock Desert with Chuck Fulkerson for Friday 22nd it will be an all day trip. If enough people want to do the same run on Saturday the 23rd we can put it on again. Chuck will be backed up by Nth Degree (different Nth people, there are lots of them).

We are lucky to have two experts on GPS who are willing to put on geo caching events and / or doing some talks on how to operate you GPS units to their fullest capacity. Please let me know how we can best put these two gentlemen to good use.

Scott and Matt from AT will be conduction a hands on demo on what emergency equipment to take on the trail with you. There has been lots of talk around the shop about “Zen” welding where less is more??

For alternative technology we will have the new AirX wind turbine, Truckee Biodiesel, plus lots of Solar. Bring all your ideas about diesel conversion because that’s where all the excitement is right now.

We should have a great selection of Overland vehicles at the event, Rob the Brit is talking about bringing his new Unimog up, and we should have a 4X4 tractor trailer unit pulling in. Anyone else bringing a vehicle of note?

As I said in earlier posts Pyramid Lake is a great place for fishing, swimming, sailing, windsurfing and kayaking so bring all your man / person powered toys.

So the event moves forward, please make sure you RSVP well in advance so I can order enough Porta Potties and TP.

Cheers

Martyn,
Thanks for the update, it all sounds like it will be a blast. What time is the run on Friday planned for, we will be coming from Bridgeport and I don't exactly know when we will be there. Looking forward to seeing all there.

Martyn, Things are looking good for me to bring the camper mog, the wife is going to Seattle that weekend/week so no reason not to come. It'll be a horrible drive up.

TLC / ICON at Pyramid Lake

We have just done our first show with TLC / ICON www.tlc4X4.com and www.icon4X4.com which was very successful.

They have asked to attend the Pyramid Lake Adventure, so for those of you who have not see and ICON up close and personal here is your chance.

Everything is starting to come together for the event, we have between 50 and 60 people who have committed to attending, so it looks like a good size group.

Cheers
