Haha. I love LCs (why I'm in this section often), my dad had a 50 series when we were growing up and my brother has a UZJ100 but other than the size and may be some additional rock crawling abilities of the 80 it doesn't give me anything more than my 'lowly' 3.5L Pathfinder. If I were starting fresh I'd buy an LC but if I had put work into a truck and it functions well (and is reliable) for my needs I'd rather spend my time and money getting out than building another truck.

EDIT: To clarify this was just a thought for JChataray, not the Duo! to whom congrats on the nice 80 :)

LCs are great trucks but I'm curious what shortcomings you have with your WJ that will be addressed by an 80?

Beside it being a Jeep?
(Sorry I had to)

LOL!!! That was funny!

I don't want to hijack Duo's thread too much! As far as the 80 series is concerned versus the WJ, there's its durability, reputation, room, and abundance of parts & add-ons. Don't get me wrong...my WJ has taken me places I never thought of ever driving to before, and is still going strong. The only thing is that in the last couple years, I've been spending, IMO, more $ that what I would think to be normal just to keep it going (could also be the place that's been servicing it as well). It's a great modified WJ, and I think would be the perfect starter rig for someone just getting into off-road adventure. If the opportunity presents itself to me with an 80 series, I look at is as a vehicular graduation of sorts!
