Adventures in an Army Green 4Runner Pro

As of the time of writing (June 14, 2020), I'm not sure how much of a "build" this will be since this will be my daily driver and, unfortunately, a lot of the super fun add-ons kinda ruin on-road ride quality. Trust me, I have a fairly thoroughly modded T|X Baja Taco and it is a super fun rig for off the beaten path but not so much for long highway miles or parking in short garages. Anyways, I figured I would keep a thread specifically for the adventures I have in this rig and whatever modifications I do end up doing to it.

Here she sits on the day I picked her up from the dealership:

Today, I took her for a little spin around Portland, OR to get some more pics and just relax. 3 months of quarantine has really started to stress me out, and I just wanted to see something different than my computer screen or the view from my bedroom window. I ended up finding some fun areas to get some photos and just get to know the road manners of my rig a little more. For as big of a vehicle as the 4Runner is, she is quite a good cruiser and way more adept at navigating the tight streets surrounding downtown PDX than her size would lead you to believe.

I know, I know, I said I wouldn't be doing many modifications to this rig but a headlight upgrade was definitely on the to-do list. The OEM beams absolutely suck. However, with about 10 minutes of work and $70 of bulbs I was able to drastically upgrade the light output of the 4Runner headlights without having to do any electrical wizardry or permanent modifications.

The lights I purchased are:
- Philips H9
- Philips H11

Here's the guide I followed. It is an incredibly simple and effective swap, and I'll keep an update on how it performs in the long term.
