Advice, help with propane plumbing to various components please

I see lots of propane tanks and discussion of stoves and such but I haven't really found a good resource that tells me how/if I can do what I am after. I would like to know how to plumb a camp stove (haven't bought one yet), a propex heater and a Camp Chef triton hot water heater simultaneously to an 11-pound propane tank. The heater would be plumbed permanently and the stove and hot water heater would need to be hooked up as needed while not disturbing the heater. Is this possible?

The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that it may depend on the gas flow volume for each appliance and then that total from the regulator of the tank. I just installed a Propex Heater in my trailer. It has a very low gas flow volume and I used 1/4" tubing from the regulator to the heater. But this was the only thing on that gas line. So for example if your water heater and stove require more flow than you can get from a 1/4" tubing you would have to start with a larger tube size tee off with a 1/4" line to your Propex heater then continue to a low pressure shut off with a quick connect to attach the other two items.

OK, glad to know it can be done. Problem is I have limited access/time for modifications to the trailer and really don't have the desire to buy a bunch of different hardware for experimentation. Especially don't want to find out that it works here (at 750 ft above sea level) and later doesn't work in the mountains or super cold weather. Surely there has to be someone with the knowledge or a resource to help shed some light on propane flow?

just started researching this my self ..... I can find splitters and quick disconnect hoses till I am blue in the face from searching google .. still no hard answers on flow .. finally someone said call the propane company .... called the local gas shop and guy said no problem .... "bring in specs of things you are hooking up and we will get you set" ..... while I have not done that as of yet he said he had everything in the shop to get me going ..... as TomP stated it will all be about flow and the regulator/s needed for each device ..... Matt ...... please be a little specific about your final findings as I am quite interested how you make out

Hmmm...

All these people with multiple propane devices on their trailers and yet I can't find or get any details on how to do it? I really don't want to just start buying tubes and connectors for a giant experimental process. I am in a small town and when I took my tank to the local gas co. for filling the guy told me it "would never work" with my triton water heater because "it didn't have enough volume". It has always worked perfectly and so I don't have much confidence in his ability to help me further design more attachments to the system. Any help, advice, direction, resources etc. would be appreciated.

I need to have a Propex heater permanently attached, a Triton water heater and a Coleman stove attached with quick disconnects if possible.

Sounds like you need a manifold for distribution and then valves for the appliances you want to disconnect if you want to run something while another is disconnected. I simply have tees in my line to each appliance. I don't think I ever run them at the same time so flow isn't an issue.

Been a long time lurker, and have gotten to about 85% on my trailer build. This subject, propane plumbing, is going to be one of my main concerns and area of aggravation. I too have yet to find all the parts i need. Found as Colorado Matt said all the splitters and tees but cant find anything else im looking for. I think i will call the local propane guys and see what they have to say to me. Id like to at least get the stove hooked up before Expo East in a little over a month.

Advice, hook up your trailer and take it to an RV repair center. Seeing you don't have the time or know how. ( Problem is I have limited access/time for modifications to the trailer and really don't have the desire to buy a bunch of different hardware for experimentation.
