AEV Lift Kit Question - Sport VS. Rubicon

eventually when I get this lift, I will follow up with the actual increased height vs. my existing stock height. Just for the hell of it. In case anyone like me cares.

I have limited headspace getting in and out of the garage, and I want to keep my jeep garage-able.

When I had my volvo, I could get it in the garage if I aired WAY down and threw extra weight in the rear. I lost a bead one time getting it out of the garage. DEEDEEDEEE. I think the lips on those rims were minimal since they originally all had tubes.

That's exactly why I limited my Jeep build to 3.5" suspension and 35" tires. My hardtop has about 1/4 inch of clearance at my garage header. That's why I took very careful measurements before and after installing the lift - I knew my clearance would be down to a fraction of an inch.

I netted over 3.25" in my 2.5" with a HT. My suggestion is to make sure you load the AEV suspension with bumpers or gear unless you like a pretty stiff suspension.

This is an interesting topic to me, and one that took me a bit of time to try to understand. I have a 2018 JK Rubicon RECON, which Chrysler spec’d out and advertised as 1“ lift over the regular Rubicon. It has the steel bumper package and underside steel skids, plus a bigger 22gl gas tank, and some heavier rock sliders.
I went to an AEV 2.5“ DUAL XT lift, and while a lot of ppl reported getting even more than 2.5“ lift, I got 2” up front and 1.5” in rear. To be fair, I’ve since loaded up my rig with rear drawers, fridge, AEV SALTA wheels, 35s, 12gl Titan rear fuel tank, rhino rack roof rack and a big effing 160lb RTT and as of right now, I can’t notice any sagging. The AEV street smooth ride is still second to none, and better than stock, IMHO.

That part of your Jeep interested me.

As far as I know, all JK Unlimiteds have a 22.5 gal gas tank from the factory.
I confirmed this with someone *extremely* knowledgeable in the JK factory & aftermarket world.
