after market stereo wiring DIY

Can some one point me to a DIY for putting after market stereo in 2000 Montero Endevor? It came with a after market stereo, which is very old and whoever did a job did not use the conversion harness, instead spliced the factory wires. And it's a mess down there.... has bunch of wires and is confusing.

Also my dome light and the center console clocks are not coming on, any idea where to look?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I would get a stock pigtail with wires and rematch it all up, then buy the correct adapter.

I was about to suggest this as well, I happen to know of a 98 that I could grab the harness from if needed.

I did pick up the harness today with over a foot of the loom intact, PM if you want to buy it.

The adapter you need is Metra 70-7003.

Hey is it the stock pigtail or the adapter you are talking about? The stock pigtail is there, it's just that most of the wires are cut.

It is the complete factory radio plug with wiring.
