Air pressure

Well now that I have my new treads...(bfg all terain ta's...Lt 265 75/16) what air pressure should I run them at? I still have the tpms in working order (and would like to keep it that way)...So if I air up to say 40or 50 psi is it going to mess with the tpms? By the way I stepped up to load E tires since we do tow our trailer from time to time and it would seem that they might hold up and lower pressure a little better.

Thanks

(btw...truck in question is an 08 frontier nismo 4x4)

I run my D-load Pirelli Scorpion ATR LT265/75 at 35 psi front and back, 40psi back when loaded.

The OEM tpms sensors will trip at 28 psi and below, according to the shop manual. However, in the cold they are especially picky, and many people with our trucks, including me, have problems with them tripping at correct pressures.
I would run about 37 psi for daily driver duty, and you should be golden. Maybe bump it up to 40-42 when towing or hauling heavy loads.

I run my X with 36 all around. One thing you can do is air them up to where you'll normally be driving at and then do the chalk test. That'll be a very good indicator as to whether or not you're at the right pressure.

Ok sounds good, that was my main concern is that hi pressure would trip the tpms light...I guess I was giving it too much credit!

I assume you are asking about tire pressure for the pavement. The Chalk Test will definitely help you determine the appropriate psi for your ride. Personally, I ran my 265s (and now my 285s) at 40 psi on the street.

Offroad, you can go much lower. I have load range D, and I keep them at 20psi for most offroading (there are a lot of rocks in the AZ desert). For sand, I will run lower ~15psi. With load range E, it is possible to go even lower (some people run in the 10-12psi range).
