Amazing trip! I dream of doing this one day. How long did it take you? Did you stop any place for more than a day or was it driving the whole time?

The entire trip was 19 days. We were in Seward for 2.5 days, St. Elias for 2 days, and Denali for 3.5 days. Everywhere else was less than 24 hours.

Thanks for sharing.

Do you have any comments about the vehicle you would choose, if you were planning another trip like this? Bigger, to provide inside sleeping option? Smaller, to improve gas mileage? More ground clearance and off-road tires to let you travel on unimproved roads? On board refrigerator? And so on.

I was quite happy with my Outback for the trip. I definitely wouldn't want a larger vehicle. It was quite sufficient for what I wanted to do, and where I wanted to go. To be honest, none of the roads required high clearance or 4WD, so even a normal passenger car could have done the trip. However, having the extra cargo capacity of the Outback was definitely critical for carrying the food, supplies & gear that I needed.
