What kind of water heater are you using there?
The cheap kind! We'll see how it holds up but so far so good. It fired right up with no issues out of the box and fits in one of the campers cabinets perfectly. The only gripe is the threads for the gas line required a special adapter since it came with "G1/2" threads which are a euro thing and I couldn't find anything to fit locally. I ended up getting this adapter on ebay to adapt it to NPT threads and a QD from there. http://www.ebay.com/itm/251900468345?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Wow, that is very inexpensive. I really like tankless heaters compared to the typical tanked heaters found in US campers.

We've used a modified 2 gal RL sprayer for yrs as a shower. I think I've got $35 in it. We originally used it in Baja. You can dial in the flow with the wand tip.

Had a nice get away for a dual sport ride with some buddies in the Stanislaus forest last weekend and got to check out a few of the latest gizmos and upgrades.
Scored a great camp next to the creek in the pics and took an immediate dip of course.
The hot shower was amazing after a hot dusty day on the bike! Truck did really good with the new BFG tires and I played around a bit getting a decent combo of tire and air bag pressure. Looking forward to Bowman lake in 2 weeks!

Dialed the final touch on the removable front wall on the cabover bed. Detachable bug screen. We'll see how it works in action but I ended up using magnetic tape on the camper wall over the bed opening and side walls then I fixed a steel strip to the bug screen with gorilla tape. To put it in place you just tack the steel strip to the magnetic strip and to stow it you just roll it a few times and it tucks between the mattress and lower wall. I didn't want to drill any holes or do anything to complicated for now so hopefully it holds up, seems like it will.
Not the best pics but you get the idea.

Upper door gap design issue FIXED!

Just thought I'd share another cheap simple mod that solves an issue with there being a gap between the upper and lower doors. The issue not only lets out of bit of heat but also lets in a fair amount of dust since it's the rear of the camper where all the dust gets churned up going down the road.

Anyways after a bit of head scratching I had an idea of how to do it so I went to the local Ace and found this bad boy.

After cutting it to size I realized it needed a bit of a shim to clear the screen door behind it. Nothing a piece of 1/4 ply wouldn't solve.
Painted the plywood shim black and fastened it all down and viola no more annoying gap!

Really nice rig! Love obs Fords. Seems like a really great platform for exploring and dirt bike riding.
Is the camper isolated enough to stay in it with a small heater in winter time?

Thanks! Yeah I'm digging this rig alot so far. Did you mean insulated? If so yes its very well insulated especially for a pop-up and far warmer than a canvas side rig. It has a built in furnace too and is cozy even in snow.

Haha, yeah I meant insulated.

I guess it can be isolated too if left in a remote place… :)

Nice setup! I am currently debating/waiting for the right alaskan or northern lite camper. Having a hard time deciding between the two. Mostly because I will be using it as a primary housing situation for the next year or two. Hmmm....
And I'll be living in Montana!

Custom hidden winch install.

Since I use the 2' receiver for moto hauling but wanted to add a winch BEFORE I need it I finally came up with a solution that works for me. Not wanting to add the expense and more importantly weight of a big burly winch bumper I decided to add a winch to the obvious place...behind the stock chrome bumper! Lucky for me there just enough room for a 12k pound super winch tiger shark between the frame rails. Install was surprisingly easy, I got a universal winch plate from summit for 29 bucks and cut it to for nice n snug over my 2' receiver, added a few gussets and had my talented welder friend marry it all together. I cut an access opening for the fairlead and used mag light wall mounts to snap the lic plate over the fairlead.
It appears I can even use it with a moto loaded up as well although I may attach a Hawse fairlead to the front of the moto hauler to guild the cable.
I'm pretty stoked on it!
