i am wondering if any of you have any personal experience with toyo open country a/t?

im looking at either toyo a/t or bfg a/t. ive never seen or drove the toyo's. i would like some comparison info and experience to help me decide.

they will be going on a 91 burb, v1500, that will have 4" and end up with all the goodies1 i.e. bumpers, guards, winches, lots of gear and a whole family. i live in denver, so snow, rain, high temps, low temps, rocks, roots, etc.... i have a tendency to rock crawl, trail ride, etc... though i will be cutting that back a bit for this rig.

i tend to weigh heavily on tire longevity and performance. noise is not a concern

thanx for your input!

My friend and I run the Toyo 285-75-17 AT's. Buddy's got an '07 CTD w/flatbed mounted Phoenix 9' popup and utilitiy cabinets. He's racked up over 1500 offroad miles on the coastal route between Miller's Landing and Punta Canoas. His rig weighs 12,000#. No flats or structural damage to the tires yet which is incredible. He just returned from a trip down there which was a major mudbath. E rated and a load rating of nearly 3900# each helps.

I've had great luck with 35" Pro Comp XTerrains on my 2500 Suburban. They go great offroad, and I have piled on the miles on the pavement as well.

I got Toyo AT's on my truck. I've got 25000 on em and they look great. I've driven on the beach with them aired down with no problems. Which is quite a feat considering they are the stock size on my truck, which is quite small. I'd buy them again based on their performance so far. So I obviously and confident in my recommendation of them. Oh and they are pretty quiet as well.

I ran LT265/75/R16 on my Chevy K1500 extended cab short bed truck for the five years I had the truck. My biggest complaint was the tires would pack with snow and not clean out at times. When in the hills I would just put chains on and all was good. The first set I had I got 50,000 miles out of the tires. I did rotate every 3,000 miles. I did have the first set siped which resulted in a bit of chipping in the rocks on the edges of the tread blocks.

I then replaced the tires with P265/75/R16 because I needed a new set of tires for just a few months before I bought my Toyota. The P rated tires were much cheaper which is I opted for them the second time since I was only going to have the truck for a few more months.
