Altimeters.....any advise/choice before purchase

Hello, im looking for a digital altimeter. Carabiner style, no watch set-ups...Heavy duty (or as tough as can be) as i am not the most graceful individual. I support a quality tool before price, so that being said, has anyone any good input? Thanks

I have used the brunton nomad with good results. Just need to calibrate it at known positions.

Your best bet is probably to purchase a GPS device with a barometric based altimeter feature. Or, purchase a Suunto Core watch which will be roughly the same price. Cheaper altimeters, under $150, are largely junk.
