Aluminum skin material?

I used 0.040" on the roof of a teardrop I built, thought it was too heavy - did it just in case of hail or something. Used, 0.032 on the side walls, felt right to me. Both had plywood supporting them. I'd use 0.032 if I were to do it over.

0.040 might be right if its just steel tube and foam behind it.

Aluminum in expensive right now, but buying just a few sheets is never cheap. Expect to pay $3.00/lb for it at any decent distributor, once you buy more than their minimum order. (I "do" aluminum for a living...)
