Aluminum vs steel

Looking to build a 8ftx5ft camper that will go on the flat bed of my truck. What would be the strongest for this, 2x2 square aluminum or 1x2 steel? What thickness?

Camper will be 4ft tall and have 4 actuators that lift the roof to be 6ft. Any additional advise would be appreciated.

Composite boxes have been around for decades. Built right they are incredibly strong. Our truck is 27 years old with over 400000 kms no issues. Super strong box.
Steel and Al transfer heat, composite is the best option for a 4 season box.
