Am I crazy?

Yessir, I am going to be running electric fans tho and an aluminum rad. I have also chosen No A/C but it would most definitely fit.

Now I am running a body lift which helps with the transmission tunnel, but that could easily be remedied with a hammer.

this thread's been jacked all over the place, mostly by me, and the OP has never returned, so fill us in please on v8 details. anyone please

Lol.

Well it's going to be our overland/rock crawling rig. As for the v8 it was a no brainer, gives me the power I need along with great gas mileage. I'm going with the auto (for now) to see how we like it, it also allows my wife to drive it a little easier.

As for bulk, it's not much heavier than the 3.0. The trans and tcase account for a good bit more.

I'm also going solid axle to save me from future IFS investments. Using the long arm/radius arm kit from RuffStuff specialties and a D44 from an 80s waggy.

The 5.3 is an 01 from a suburban with 106k on it. Keeping it mostly stock with headers and emissions delete. Along with a simple tune it should make around 320hp.

I'll start a build thread, little premature but I should be done within the next week with the motor at least.

I’d look at the supercharged options already out there before I’d try cramming in something not designed for the truck.....unless this is a total hobby / fun project.....just to see if it can be done, then go for it! I can’t remember where I saw it but I swear someone was selling a supercharger kit for the 6G74....Australian?

Yes sir! My Mitsu mechanic told me that the supercharger from the Dodge Stealth would fit on the 6G74 engine. I hadn't really thought about it, until you mentioned it. But, I moved out of state and away....
