That's really cool.
I was fortunate enough when I lived in Tucson to get to view the sun through a 12" scope. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.
I don't have a solar filter for my scope - I've always been scared that I'd put it on wrong and fry my retinas. The scope I was looking through in Tucson was specifically designed for solar viewing.
But I may have to give it a shot one of these days. I've been meaning to get back into stargazing again anyway.
