Ambulance RVs

I am in the process of purchasing a 13 year old amb.
Will be converted into a traveling office / rv.

Gutting out the interior.
Even though it's a walkthrough, will be taking down the wall between the cab and the box.
Once gutted out, will be easier to create the floor plan.
All wiring will be traced and labeled.

Going one step at a time and not rushing it.
Just enough to be off the grid for a couple of days.

Once purchase is complete, I will post about the build.

Cool looking forward to your build post. I would especially be interested in how you tackle the wiring seeing that there are so much.

Break out the checkbook and have fun with the build! 80k will get you pretty close, but plan on more like 100k fully outfitted for weeks on end off the grid.
While I am sure you can spend this sort of cash getting someone to do a custom build you can also do it more frugally. I am on my second build. The first was a 4WD 1998 converted, painted and on 19.5 singles and I sold it for less than 20K. This build is a little larger but I still expect to keep it south of 40K if I go 4WD and south of 30K if 2WD does what I need.

Yes I do the majority of the work myself but I am no rocket scientist!!! Just about anyone could do the interior themselves and most could handle the mechanical. Depends on how much value you put on your own time.

Having an experienced electrician who knows his away around rv's campers, etc. take care of the wiring.
That's why one step at a time and everything will be labeled and tied off.
It will be a relative simple build, but the wiring is key to avoid future issues.

Unless you're going to strip out all the wiring and start over, there will be a learning curve for any electrician who works on an ambulance for the first time. The wiring is very well done in an ambulance, but it's different than an RV.

Ha!
I get confused with light bulbs.
Which is why I have an electrician with lots of RV and build out experience to help out.

A friend of mine used to say "I know all about electricity -- It'll kill me if I mess around with it" - then he'd call me to fix his store's AC...
