With the cart already ahead of the horse, I'll try to start over.
Hi, my name is Peter Carey. I own a NAS D110 which is pretty stock, except for the current engine swap to a International 2.8 TGV diesel. And sliders, it has sliders too.
Anyway, I've always been interested in long distance trips while owning the likes of an FJ40 and a Chevy Blazer before getting into Rovers. I started off with a RRC for around town and then picked up a nicely setup Discovery. Then along came a Defender which my wife really liked as well (and she didn't like the Discovery so much) so out went the other cars and in came the Defender.
Most trips until now have been family camping in Washington State. When the truck is up and running I'd like to expand a bit. First thought is a shake down 3 week trip to Alaska or the Yukon this summer, but that's still a maybe. My wife and I, with our 5 year old daughter, have got our camping kit pretty well organized and it has made things easier on camping and taking trip. But we've never been gone for more than a week of camping.
Immediate plans are to finish off the install and then just drive it around (it's been 'on blocks' for a long while now) next month. After that, I'd like to install some storage in the back to keep things lashed down and provide some security.
At least that's the plan! I don't have a lot of pictures right now because honestly it just looks like every other stock Defender with 4 Hellas on top. If you click on the link below you'll see a semi-blog of the change over from gasoline to biodiesel engine.
