And yet another off road-ish camper build has begun.

Great build, I just started looking into doing a build. I like the little bigger design you have. One must haves is big enough to store the camp gear we need for 2-3 day trip. I want to get home from work on Friday night and say "Lets go camping" and just fill the cooler grab some clothes and can be on the road in 20 minutes.

Any idea how much you will have $$ into it when done?

Thanks
Todd

Thank you very much.

I am thinking I am going to be in it about $5000 all said and done.

I did not use cheap materials. I used nothing but the best quality raw materials I could. I didn't want any trouble down the road. And my skills and tools aren't the best, so I wanted every advantage I could get! LOL

Just about all lighting installed and tested. It will all be removed before paint.

Also, hitched it up to the Jeep to see how she looks and sits. I think a little more drop down on the hitch should make her a bit more level.

Ordered a bunch more little bits and pieces, should all be in in the next couple weeks. 12v power supply/charger, corner leveling jacks, set of four, LED bulbs, low amp fuses etc.

Don't be so quick to modify the hitch. It looks really close as it is. Wait to see how it sits when it's done and both the trailer and tow vehicle are loaded. Then you'll have a better sense of how it sits relative to the tow vehicle.

Great job on an awesome build!

I was just thinking about getting a 3.5" drop tongue for the Jeep instead of the 2" drop that I have now. Mine is old and nasty looking anyway, kinda want a nice new one. .

I like it just a *tad* nose low when towing. So, when the trailer is finished, the battery is in the tongue box, Jeep is loaded etc, I think it will sit just right with that 3.5" drop tongue. Also, I still might put a 2" spacer lift on the Jeep too, which is going to change it again. Sooo.... ********. Who knows.

Well if it helps justify a lift kit then go for it! Been there, my friend.

Yesterdays progress. Installed blind nuts for the rear door hinges, and plate mount. Cut and fit the rear door seal metal.

Made a new, longer, trailer lights pigtail, ran it through some PVC that clamps under the chassis to route it around the battery box, trim in cabin, battery box mount bolts, bunch of little stuff today.

Roof attachment

Looking good.
Can you show a picture of how you put the roof on.
Is it on top of the sides or flush with the sides.

I am just finishing up my planning before I start my build in February. Your build has helped me out a ton.

Thanks

It is on top of the sides. I skinned in this order for aerodynamic load and water intrusion. It is getting coated in epoxy anyway, but, every little bit helps. Rear, sides, front, window slope, roof. Sides over the rear at the rear, front over the sides at the front, sanded the front to match the slope flush, stargazer slope over the front at the bottom, sanded to match the vertical, top sanded to flush the roofline, then roof overlapping all. Ill grab detail pics shortly.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Fighting bronchitis for what seems like forever.

Just got back to work today. Small steps still. Another coat of varnish on the rear counter. And started filling screw holes on the outside of the rear doors, rear and drivers side.

This thing is awesome! Its given me a lot of inspiration to start my build here in the next few months! I'm local to Las Vegas too (Aliante Area) I'd love to check out the trailer some time!

Anytime you want. If I am not flying, I am home working on it.

Bring sandpaper.
