Some pics of the intake. Opened up some room for a onboard air compressor. I dunno if i can fit a second battery in that space due to the ABS being in the way.

Having some custom vacuum tubes with 3/4 inch connectors made... it will replace that god awful connector mess.

That's a massive chamber and really wide piping. Funny, it looks like you just plopped a muffler on the wrong end of the engine hahah.

HA... didnt notice the similarities till you said it :) The "muffler" houses a k and n cone filter that allows 450 cfm. this is kind of what you end up with if you want a fully sealed intake system that is not restrictive. Its 10 inches ling and has a diameter of 8 inches. It was a pain getting the vacuum port and egr return back into the system as it was in stock form.

Its modeled after the ripp system for jeeps, just nearly a quarter the cost. Got tired of the restrictive intakes and ones that do not seal with the snork. You had to compromise on one or the other with other intakes. Using the ripp system as a template, and well since their SC puts out about the same numbers as ours, there you have it. Muffler intake :-D

Nice setup. I'd wrap some sort of exhaust wrap around that tubing to decrease heatsoak in the engine bay. That should help with cold air intake. Any options for a larger TB and MAF?

I had a larger (4 inch) MAF setup from a Infinity QX4, but it just didnt fit no matter how i set it up. Since the throttle body is directly connected to the SC, the angle is different than the traditional vg33e, which makes it a PIA to plumb. Stock is 3inch through, this is 3.5 from snork to 4 inch inlet for the air canister, back to 3.5 to the throttle body.

Cleared self learning, ran two tanks through and am finally back to stock airbox numbers mpg numbers with the snork perm connected. going 65, 15 mpg and 12 city. These numbers I can live with. Was getting 13 and 9 with the stock airbox plumbed to the snork, with the front most port blocked off.

So it seems TJM has 2 different style bumpers. This one and a less beefier one. Did they quit making your model?

Some more work this weekend. Wired the arb compressor, anyone know where i can find a single din switch plate? Something with like 4 switch blanks? I might have to fab my own. Rainy day today so pics will be taken once the rain clears, need to warm up a bit.

Installed both 2 jerry can holders from Bajarack and mounted the jerry cans. That about 120 lbs + 140 lbs tent = 260 lbs spread across the baja rack. This has me a little concerned, close to the max of 300 max dynamic weight. 600 static covers me and the wife in the rtt (although more fodder for her to tell me to lose weight :)) Might look at welding some mounts to the rear bumper for the jerry cans.

Wired a 8 fuse block in the center console and moved the CB and Yaesu to it. Also pre-ran two leads for the fridge and the ark pack. Confirmation came in Fri that the two composite drawers from Adventure trailer will be here next week. Cant wait for them to get in.

Started raining before i could install the gas tank skid plate, so that will have to wait until next weekend.

Still on the plate until the trip to moab
Install drawers
Install gas tank skid
Wire in Fridge (arb 50 qt)
Wire in ark pack to run fridge and charge from alternator
Install 12 volt 6 port USB hub to run GPS, ODBII connector and install usb charging ports for the asus t100 laptop.
Lengthen the bajarack awning brackets to accommodate RTT overhang (needs to be lengthened about 3 Inches to clear the edge of the RTT)

Future mods still include
Front d44 flip kit.
transfer case/tranny skid (Someone here had posted the stock part number for that, need to find it again to use as template to fab one up)

Fridge, awning and drawers came in, took a little while to mount the awning to the bajarack, need smaller hands, had to loosen up the roof tent and lift the drivers side. Looks good. Modified bajaracks mounts, welding about a three inches in plate steel.

Hope to get the drawers in tomorrow, fridge is cooling off the the garage.

Made a platform for the drawers to sit on and have something to bolt to. Half inch plywood bolted to the cargo bay using the mounting holes for the internal tie down system. Removed them and used the holes with longer bolts.

Andrew,
Just wanted to say that I love your build. That X looks amazing. Really like that you did a simplish leaf sprung SAS> I am trying to get a first gen Xterra right now and I will be hopefully following your lead. Looks like it works pretty damn good for you and I am used to leaf sprung wheelers with several different suzuki samurai offroaders I have built. Any information about your SAS, springs you chose, mounts fabbed or bought and modified, etc etc. Driveshafts... would be most appreciated. I can't wait to start modding the thing. Well done man!! Maybe we will meet sometime at uwharrie or windrock.

Pete
