Looks like a great trip...
I really dig outings with the kids so they see the big wide world out there.
How do they deal with the long highway hours? Do they sleep ok in the rig on the overnight parts?

Thanks for posting, that area is not bad a haul from Phoenix and this makes me want to go check it out.

Excellent pics!

Did you get a chance to go to Goose Lake?

Thanks. :)

I didn't get a chance to run Goose Lake or Greenie Peak. They were both a bit further away so I just ran forest roads that were close to me.

On the way, they were fine as long as I was driving and my wife was in the back to snuggle with them. We stopped in DFW and I let her drive for a while and they got a bit rambunctious. After we stopped and swapped again, they went right back to sleep. On the way back, they didn't sleep until it got dark. During the boring parts, they just watched the DVD player. All in all, it wasn't bad at all for them. They were never fussy and didn't complain. :victory:

Good job!

Good job Dad. Your kids are too cute.
Enjoy your kids while you have them.
You won't believe how fast they grow up.

Ha, it actually has my wife wanting to move out of TX now. :costumed-smiley-007

Well, the temps you enjoyed up in the northern part of our state are great in the summer. The winter is a whole other story above 7000 feet. Come back in the winter and see if she likes it. Angel Fire, Red River and Taos are all great winter destinations. Disclaimer: I do not work for the NM Dept of Tourism :sombrero:

Excellent trip report, with maps, route and all.

Only been to AF/Taos once, that was in winter to snowboard. Poached Taos a few weeks before they opened it up to our kind. Fun little place.

That gorge you took a picture of, isnt that the Rio Grande? You're right Pueblo Taos is getting sold out and commercial. Pretty sad. Did you check out Georgie O Keefe?

I deliver Ford parts to dealerships and northern NM is my route. I come through Taos from CO on my way to Santa Fe 5 days a week. When it's daylight I am always wondering what the Sangres looked like up close. Now I know, thanks for sharing! Now i need to plan a trip!
