Another 100 series, my first Toyota

In my quest for a better family rig I ran across this 2000 Landcruiser
and picked it up last night. If you see this Josh thanks for selling it to me haha.

Engine was hydro locked and ended up having a broke #8 rod. Rest of the rig is pretty ok. I found a motor local and will go pick it up when time allows. In the mean time I’ve started cleaning it up and going from there. It’s a pretty solid base to start from, known mods are :
2” ome lift with upper control arms
Arb front bumper
9.5k winch
33” Toyo mt
Well built rear storage area
Ironman off-road front recovery points some accessory lighting
80-20 built roof rack

“Plans” are for now
*Put the engine in and get on the road again, daily and see what else comes up that it needs. I already have a small list of things I know that don’t work.
*upon closer inspection today I saw it need new sway bar bushings and links front and rear so I’ll address that.
* 10% under drive transfer case gears
* swap all the expo stuff off my Dmax
* rear bumper with swing outs
* at some point swap to 17s and put the girls 35s on so we can do 37s on her jk, this will probably require lifting the front end a touch more and cutting which I’m definitely not scared of.
* at some point re-gear and a rear locker
* Enjoy with the fam

While waiting on my engine I worked on cleaning up the interior. I removed the factory amp and installed 80mil kilmat in the front 2/3 of the rig. I’ll do the rear 1/3 another night, and eventually the doors.
road noise is always one of my complaints about rigs. Especially after having a new diesel a Couple years ago.

Whoa! And I thought my rust repair project was a big one. Best of luck, it looks like the rest of the rig is a great starting point for a fun build.

Nice rig! The joke is on you though... 100 series are some of the quietest 4x4s on the planet. And for a MT, Toyos are also very quiet. Your sound mat will help, but I doubt it make much difference over stock.

good to know on the quietness of the 100! I’ve had a many sets of toyo mt so I’m well aware of their noise. Nothing super loud, just enough to hear it.
