Good to know. Thanks. I will check out the discovery routes. I've been to Portland several times since my mom lives there. It is really nice and the ability to get to some varied environments with a relatively short drive is appealing. Also, you've got the gorge right there which is pretty wonderful. Good hiking and salmon fishing not far out of the city. Can't beat that.
