Fremont is arguably the most important figure in California becoming a part of the United Sates of America. Other historians, such as Royce will challenge that fact but no matter what your opinion is on his roll nobody can challenge his exploits as an explorer and the contributions he made in mapping the West.
This book is a 1856 edition of The Memoirs and Life of John Charles Fremont, by John Bigelow.
The book is in fair condition and is missing a page in the front. Has some foxing and the wear that is evident in the pictures. It is still in good shape for reading and the pages are in great shape compared to my other copy which is yellow and mildew stained, the pages in this book are nice and clean.
