Man talk about a turnkey overland vehicle! I keep seeing people buying up these old military rigs and it really intrigues me. May I ask where you purchased it and how? Was it a government auction type deal? Thanks in advance.

Latest progress...the old 4ft flourescent hung too low and honestly didn’t fit our style. My wife had a 12ft LED tape lying around so I fashioned up a very low profile(3/4”thick) light fixture...

Hope to get it installed today.

I’m in Alabama(Pell City), I found this M1010 in Ellaville, Ga. I think I mentioned before about her having 2900 miles in the odometer. The guy I bought it from got it at a Douglas County, Ga auction for, are you ready, $1400. I paid significantly more($5500) but I had studied the market for the CUCV and I knew what price range I was getting into for a clean example like this one. These thing have their drawbacks but the chassis is so well built I knew any weaknesses could be fixed in the future.

No progress as of late. Been mid 90’s and we’ve been doing all the normal life stuff(kids, yard work, etc). I’ve also been out scouting and preparing for hunting season. I’m hoping to have a little more progress before October 15 to make the space more usable during hunting season and comfortable for overnight camping/hunting trips. Also plan to have some new tires by then.

Looking good!!! Awesome to see some more details about the build on here.

I should try to be more active on here, IG doesn't really provide the same level of detail or usefulness haha

So summer got hot, and with the truck being daily driven I didn’t get too much done. But last Saturday I hung out with the brothers again and we got a lot done.

Added a chest on the rear right. This will be storage for now. I suspect I’ll hide my water tank and plumbing in this area as I have outer(right quarter) access for showers.

We added the face to the storage cabinets near the right side front.

We skinned the bed storage spaces. We also added the skins to the folding lids on the bed. Because of the skin locations I have a small space(2.5inch) between the outer and inner skin. I can hang tools or an AR-15 in this space.

In the rear bed storage space, I will have a slide out cooking area. So in the upper space I add floor for what will be a shallow tool box.

Hope you guys like.

Love the build. Looking forward to building my M1010.

Got a question, since mine is all white as well, how well has the Baer paint been holding up? Seems like an easier way to repaint than other options.

Responded to you on IG, but the paint has held up well. I simply degreased the whole thing and the dull old white made for good adhesion. The only issue I had was the bolt heads and other rusty spots that I had used red oxide primer. The overspray dust from the primer cause me to have poor adhesion and required some redo of those spots. So if u hit those spots with primer, wipe away the dust after and u should be fine. I’m very impressed with the Behr paint consider how much limb/brush abuse she gets in the woods.

Killing it! Good to seee you getting some use out of it on IG :)
Yeah the summer definitely caused a little hiatus. She’s my daily driver but haven’t been in the woods in a while...but it’s getting that time of year and she will be putting the miles on the KM3s. I LOVE this truck!

So she’s still a work in progress but I’ve spent a total of about 60 nights in her...including 30 nights straight in the spring. I want to improve the kitchen slide out for hunting season.

Thanks so much for the info. I just joined IG primarily so I could ask about the paint. LOL Now I just need to decide on the color. Been thinking a blue/grey color similar to what the new Tacoma trucks are using.
