Perfect timing for an upgrade. :)
I bought a 1310 double cardan through Northridge4x4 for a bit over $400 with both yokes.
Might even find some Labor Day sales going on.
If not, keep your eyes on Craigslist, for a take off shaft. Too bad you aren't in California, I have the original one sitting around collecting dust.

Interestingly enough. The rear was a Tom Woods 1310. The joint split in half and failed on that.

Tom was awesome to work with alongside my local shop in Annapolis, MD (World Tour Offroad) The rear shaft was covered under warranty and he offered to upgrade me to a 1350 for the $160 cost difference.

I now have 1350's front and rear ;)

Your compressor install looks so clean! :)

Having the antenna in black is a great idea when it's mounted forward like that. It somewhat "disappears" after a while of looking through the windshield. I am considering the same spot for the Ham radio antenna.

Thank you. I try to have everything clean and tidy ;) Messy installs drive me nuts...

Wow. The way the metal twisted like a Twizzler is amazing.

Couldn't you have driven to the nearest shop just using the other driveshaft instead of getting towed?

I was very impressed with the twist yet very dissapointed in the factory unit.

I was going over a rock ledge at Rausch Creek Offroad Park when the rear failed. We managed to remove it and were on our way out in FWD / 4 Hi when we ran into a group of jeeps who were parked in the middle of an incline. They were taking pictures and I had to come to a stop, losing all momentum.

The front shaft had to already be damaged because as I started going again it just snapped. This was also a combination of FWD only and starting on a rocky / sandy hillside. I was then towed out via strap and parked it for the day. Jumped in my buddies JKU and went back out. I was very upset at the damage but I was not going to let it ruin a good day of wheeling. Rausch Creek is about two and a half hours from Arnold MD. With that drive, we might as well make the best of the day!

So one thing that never sat quite right with me, or my jeeps rear end, was the 2.5" teraflex lift springs. The rear always seemed to sit a bit low, even when unloaded. When loaded for a trip, the rear would sag tremendously. Teraflex was nice enough to send me a 1" spacer free of charge after a quick phone call. This held me over for a while. However, the rear stance still bothered me when loaded. Another call to teraflex yielded more fantastic support. Jeremy @ Teraflex offered to upgrade me to the heavier duty outback springs for about half the cost since I was sticking with teraflex. He did recommend the 2 door springs with my current front springs since the 4 door 3" outback springs yield about 3.5 inches of lift. I chose to go with the 4 door specific springs, and in the end I am happy.

Here is a shot of the old 2.5" springs and the 3" heavy duty springs side by side.

During the installation, a friend convinced me to leave the 1" rear spacer in place. This would lift the rear of the JK 4". We decided to do this, and 4" front springs were ordered first thing the following day. Look at that rake!

All packed and rear for VOR! (Vermont Overland Rally)

Here you can see I actually removed the upper crossmember of the teraflex cargo interior rack. This allows me to get the rack up as high as possible and still slide the Front Runner Wolf Packs in. I noticed no loss in strength

Unfortunately the front springs did not arrive in time to get them installed before departing Maryland for Massachusetts, where I would spend a few days with family. After a few days of vacation at "home" it was off to vermont looking like a drag car with all that rake.

I had to go hit the ocean in my home town of Scituate, Massachusetts.

Very nice I actually just scored a TF rack second hand and when I installed it over my ARB Fridge was a little disappointed with that upper bar and losing some much needed inches to store items. Did you see any issue at all with everything up there during your trip? I also have the extra side panel kit but am thinking of removing the rear one and the upper for trips if I need that additional room for putting things on the shelf.

I have a white/yellow Siberian Husky - Labrador Retreiver mix named Jake. Jake's hair had a way of weaving his way into the stock black cloth seats so I added some Bartact seat covers in Coyote Tan. The tan should help fit the look i am going for as well as hide the hair a little better. Flash forward a few months and these covers are amazing! The dog hair whipes right off, and the water resistant nature of them is very helpful in a Jeep.

I also just noticed your seat covers. Very nice addition. I did Coyote as well in my Black Jeep to off set being all Black. I have had them a few years now. They are awesome. Mine are trek armor before they switched names. I have pulled off the front lowers and washed them 1x and they looked brand spanking new again afterwards. Looks great on your Jeep!

I noticed no loss in strength in the rack. My biggest complaint is the thing rattles if its not loaded... drives me nuts.

I plan to add some no skid strips and tie down points so I can run individual stratchits over each box.
