Any Delica or 4G63 experts or both?

Hi all, I recently bought a L300 deli from 87 with a 4g63b motor around 63,000 mi. A little confused about this thing, I guess I was spoiled with the amount of info for my Toyota with a 22re. So this thing is supposed to be a carb, but I see injectors?? there is no check engine light on the instrument cluster that I can see and nothing for diagnostic nor have I found an ecu. I'm in a cold place with no good place to work on this at the moment so I'm trying to get a grip on what I'm dealing with first. Any info appreciated!! :ylsmoke:

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Mine was a 1989 with a 4G64 (multiport injected), pretty sure that was the only engine option we got here in the US. The ECU is in the passenger B pillar. Anything else?

thanks for the reply. yeah you're right about the us vans, but this was imported from japan. I know its a 4g63b for sure, they used that motor in a number of vehicles here, just not finding much info.

The older 2WD Mighty Maxes and Galants had them. Check on the Mighty Max and Classic Colt forums

Post photos if you can, your words are of very little help... I'm not certain why you're expecting a carb? especially being a jdm unit, they had injection on the Galant VR4 in 87 in japan land, so putting FI on the van would not surprise me.

Post photos of the engine, the engine ID tag (should be under the engine cover somewhere) and we can go from there...

Subscribed for future help once its discovered if its FI or carb. I'm pretty familiar with the 4G63 Sirius engine. I have two 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse's, one with the 4G63T and one with the 4G63NT, plus a Lancer Evolution with the newer version of the 4G63T. All of mine are 2.0 liter, DOHC, fuel injected variants though.
