I am not looking to make it a habit to go into deep water put things happen. This snorkel is only 80 bucks and has good reviews. Is it too good to be true?

There's really not much to them - $80 is a good deal for the market, though.
Since it retains the factory box and just replaces the megaphone intake part, it's a pretty low risk if you take your time. They even caution to measure several times before you cut int eh listing.

My favorite use for a snorkel is limiting trail dust ingested. :beer:
The water thing is just an added bonus.

The TJ air box is a good design and I am not wanting to replace that.
