Any good deals in Seattle?

My friend is looking for a 4 wheel drive SUV in Seattle, the best he can get for 6 grand. He doesn't care a bout brands, other than he would like an import. Any leads?

Daily driver, going snowboarding in the mountains... nothing hardcore.

Ford Explorers are dirt cheap and actually quite reliable (at least based on my experience). Here is a 2001 with 68,000 miles for only $5500. I would avoid pre-1997 since they did not have a 4wheel Hi mode, just a 4wheel auto mode which does not work well in snow

on edit: I just noticed that you wanted an import, a similar age and mileage 4 Runner would be $10-12,000. So I would still consider the Explorer.

I recommended an Explorer but he has a Mustang now and wants a non-Ford. I am trying to talk him into a Trooper.

I think the Montero Sport or even the regular Montero are a great value. You can get a 02 or 03 for about $6500 or so.

for what you get a suzuki is a really good deal. good mileage as well.
