Looking to add a CJ5 jeep fuel tank in my dodge ram diesel as an aux fuel tank. Shouldn't be any issues running diesel in it is there?
Thanks!
Here's a good, economical way to put 3-4 more gallons in your existing tank. It simply relocates your vent up higher in the vacant part of your tank.
That's buy you 45-60 miles.
Mine's been in for eight yrs now. No issues

If you get an aftermarket replacement tank by Spectra it's made with their "Ni-Terne" steel, they use that same material for both diesel and gasoline tanks. We have a Ni-Terne steel Bronco gasoline fuel tank in a diesel truck, been years with exactly zero problems.
It's not a good idea diesel and galvanized are not compatible
so a painted steel one would be better?
Great idea, maybe I'll be able to put in the 51 gallons my tank is spec'd for! Here's a good, economical way to put 3-4 more gallons in your existing tank. It simply relocates your vent up higher in the vacant part of your tank.

If you ever plan to use biodiesel, stay away from a galvanized tank. The biodiesel will etch the zinc coating right of the surface and put it into the fuel.
